After creating the mind map I began to think of natural light explosions , I did not want to do natural explosions such as volcanoes or earthquakes as I felt this was quite predictable . I am interested in the power that nature has to create these explosions and how our eye see them .
The Northern Lights
The Northern lights can be seen around the Northern hemisphere , they are a natural lunar explosion caused when the sun expels particles , when these particle near earths magnetic field they are forced to the Northern Pole . This is how the Northern Lights are created , they dance around the sky with beautiful colours , they are never the same every time they appear they are unique . This is something that reminded me of Illamasqua they are unique and are looking for the consumer market to celebrate this. When people visit the Northern lights they are left questioning did they really just see that ? This is something that should be encouraged within make up not because it is bad but because it is too beautiful to be true.

This image shows how the lights are also reflected onto water which changes the colour and structure of them . I really like how each colour holds its own but blends flawlessly in to the next .

This looks like a green tornado , I like how the sky is not one solid colour and the snow has a variety of shades. The image is not over powdered by one colour . This is something that I will need to consider.

I like how the lights in thins image are fragmented, they appear to be scratching the sky . The water that lay underneath them almost looks afraid to take too much colour from them .

This image shows how blue and green are the most dominant colour hows the purples and red still remain powerful. I also like how the stars are visible through the lights , this shows some relation to the real .

This image is breathtaking the tranquil environment draws you in . I would like to incorporate the movement and colour tones of the northern light in my images, I particular like this one as it is not over power .
Water and Light

When researching the Northern lights I began to think back to the original mind map, and the idea of water and reflection , this was also seen in the images with the northern lights. Light changes dramatically when cast over water. Water allows the reflection inhabit itself for a few moments . Again I like that no reflection will remain the same for any length of time , this could also represent the constant refreshing of Illamasqua .

I like how the water takes in the light and mixes the colour with its own. The rays should be bright white however it is clear to see as the night falls in the sea has taken the colour of the sky, this has been blended together . I would like to experiment with blending white and strong colours together , as i think that any harsh lines should be to define the face , the colours should be blended and added in layers .
Objects can look obscured under water , leaving the eye to work out where the object actually is .

This image shows how depending on the distance of the light the reflection will change . I would like to work on this for my final images I would like both my images to be well blended with only hints of intense colour . The styling will also reflect the loose, flowing manner of the reflections .
Rainbow

A Rainbow occurs when light and water droplets cast a reflection of a light spectrum . They only appear when directly opposite the sun and consist of 7 main colours. It is interesting to note that although there are some many different colours in a rainbow they all merge. I like how there is a second rainbow appearing in the distance that is not as strong in colour , this could be used in my images. The colour could be repeated in a different place just not as strong .

Waterfalls can also create light spectrum's . However I am interested in the foam that is crated when the water hit the surface . I would like to use this movement in the hair, I would like to show stillness and movement as I believe this defines the idea's that I have been looking into .

The mist that is cast off from the initial splash is interesting, I like how this covers up the main explosion . This is something I will be looking at in more detail with drawings .

This image also shows the calm and the crash together. As well as the foam I like the lines of colour running through the sea like veins .

When the Tsunami hit Japan in 2004 no one was aware of the devastating aftermath . This is one image of what happens when a wave hits land. This shows that not all water is tranquil , it is a dangerous element that should be respected . I would like to show this explosion with intense colour on the nails .

I found it interesting when researching that images of water, lights, nature and explosion have mostly been calm . This is an image from space which shows the formation of the clouds . I think the patterns formed are interesting and relate back to the Northern lights .

This is a weather report from space when a Hurricane is present in the weather. It is amazing to see the patterns that the clouds are forming . This could be interesting to develop into a hair style .
